Dominate

Once you have mastered surviving, and have built your base of operations, next comes dominating the other exiles, converting them to your thralls (if they are npcs) as well as in the future perhaps taming the wild creatures roaming the land.

Thralls:

Here is an overview posted by the devs in their Dev blog #12 explaining the different thralls available to you.   We started in the south with the weaker exiles we came across, but as you move further north or west or east you will encounter npcs with more potential to aid in your growing settlement.

You will need to knock out the npc with a truncheon that you can craft, then press "E" once they go unconscious to attach your fiber bindings (craftable) to their body to drag them back to your camp.  In order to convert them to a thrall which will do your bidding, they must be dragged over to your wheel of pain, fed gruel and turn the wheel of pain on to do the slow conversion to thrall.

Building Tips and Tricks

Here we will share some tips on building your empire within Conan Exiles, a crucial part of surviving the harsh lands.

Harvesting/Hunting/Gathering:

Constantly collect resources such as stone, wood from trees, plant fibers from plants, hide, bones and flesh from animals you hunt.  Create a few chests to store these resources in, since your encumbrance will only allow you to carry a limited amount at any time.

Crafting:

Be sure to level up your crafting whenever you can and you are able to craft items even while hunting or gathering.

Placement of Building Objects:

Be strategic where you choose your base, higher spots are easier to defend.

Survival Tips

Here is where we will mention our tips and tricks for surviving in the harsh lands of Conan Exiles.

1. Build your starter base near a body of water, if you get thirsty you can simply go near the water of a lake or river and press E to drink and quench your thirst.

2. Harvesting plants will result in occasional insects which can be eaten until you are able to cook your own food, but do not eat the raw flesh since it causes food poisoning...I found out the hard way!

Character Creation

Here is where we will discuss tips on creating your character in Conan Exiles.  For now it is pretty basic and easy to create a character, but as the game progresses we will add our input.

You can choose to create your character on a server hosted by Conan Exiles, or join a private server or even host your own server for a monthly fee.  If you choose to host your own server, here is a link to their technical manual on how to set up the admin for your server.

We wanted to share some tips and guides for Conan Exiles game, which was just out in early release on Jan 30th, 2017 in alpha.  We have been testing it out for a few days and definitely see the potential within it.  Please come back from time to time as we post what we have learned in our testing of this new action survival game.
